Dogs for Kids Magazine Redesign
An assignment given to me for a college class, I was given the task to recreate a preexisting magazine and improve upon it. It was not required to do the entire magazine, but I took it upon myself to update every article and page, even adding my own additional flares along the way.
The original design was made in the early 2000's and was very dated and tacky. I find that, even if something is made for kids specifically, it doesn't mean the quality and style should be less than something made for adults. So, I made a one-to-one copy of each article, sometimes substituting articles for modern versions—like changing the Dog Whisperer article to be about Victoria Stillwell because I prefer her dog training practices and wanted to highlight her instead—all while keeping in mind modern style norms, but still making it fun for kids. I kept the same amount of games in the magazine as well, but altering them in the same way to make them look better, or substituting the ones that were repetitive in the original.
